STEVE OGG – LEAD SOFTBALL INSTRUCTOR
The guru of fast-pitch softball in Oakland County, Steve Ogg enjoyed unparalleled success as the head coach at Oakland Community College. In two runs at OCC (1980-91 and 2004-’08) and a three-year stint at Oakland University, Ogg compiled a career record of 519-350 and was named Region XII Coach of the Year in 2008 and three of his last four years as the OCC pilot. The Lady Raiders won three NJCAA Region XII titles the past four seasons and finished the ’08 campaign as the nation’s 8th ranked club.
From August 2000 to June 2003, Ogg was hired by Oakland University to build the school’s NCAA Division I softball program. His lady Golden Grizzlies won back-to-back Mid-Continent Conference championships in 2002 and 2003; won the NCAA regional tournament to qualify for the National championship tournament in ’03 and became the first OU sports team to win a game at the National Championship Division I level.
Ogg has specialized in training programs that deal with change, team building and leadership issues, and is specialized to provide training in programs such as Principled Centered Leadership, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Gender-based Team Building and Whole Brain Technology.
Ogg is responsible for all softball programs operating in the soon-to-be-constructed Diamond at The Summit which is to include fast-pitch women’s softball at the high school, college and professional levels.
