CRUISERS TO INTRODUCE FORMER MAJOR LEAGUE STAR
AS KEY ADDITION TO ORGANIZATION

Special Reception at Cruisers Baseball Academy
On Thursday, Mar. 18th, at 5:15 pm, Open to General Public

The Oakland County Cruisers will introduce a well-known MLB Star as the latest addition to their baseball operations at a reception open to the general public on Thursday, March 18th, at 5:15 pm.

“We’re extremely fortunate to have this gentleman join our organization,” said team president Rob Hilliard. “He will make a significant impact to our ball club, to our Baseball Academy and to our operations as a whole and we look forward to introducing him to our season ticketholders, corporate sponsors, company shareholders, vendors and local government officials.” The Cruisers ask interested parties to RSVP by calling 248-681-0700 or by e-mailing to rahcruiser@hotmail.com and providing their name, number of people attending and contact information. There is no charge.

  HOST FAMILIES WANTED

The Oakland County Cruisers have made significant strides in identifying families to host their ball players for the upcoming 2010 Frontier League season.  Thus far, 15 families have stepped forward to house some 38 players during the two-week Spring Training period with the need to host 24 who make the final roster. A four-month commitment starts on May 5th when players report for their physicals and concludes on September 5th with the conclusion of the season (unless, of course, the Cruisers make the playoffs).  Clearly, host families are a critical part of the Cruisers operation.

While families don’t receive monetary compensation, members of the immediate household find themselves on the player guest list for any game they want to see during the season.  Additionally, there are discounts on team merchandise, an appreciation night near season’s end, a special “meet & greet” dinner during Spring Training and a life-long bond created between player and family members.

For further information or to join the Cruisers family, please call Sasha Salvador at 248-891-4612; e-mail team president Rob Hilliard at rahcruiser@hotmail.com and provide your most convenient telephone number and home address, or leave complete information on our Baseball Academy business number (248-681-0700).

CRUISERS ACADEMY BECOMING THE PLACE TO TRAIN
FOR AREA BASEBALL, SOFTBALL PLAYERS

The Oakland County Cruisers Baseball Academy, located behind the Summit Place Mall at 277 Summit Drive off Elizabeth Lake Road and just west of Telegraph Road in Waterford, is quickly becoming the place to train for area baseball and softball players.  From NOBF travel clubs and youth fast-pitch softball teams to area high school players and the Oakland Community College women’s softball team, the Academy has its four IRON MIKE™ baseball and softball batting cages, two “live” pitching and hitting tunnels and new softball super cage increasingly occupied weekday evenings and thru most of its weekend hours.

The Academy, owned and operated by the Frontier League Oakland County Cruisers, has a number of specially priced packages including a $50 monthly unlimited-use membership program and discounted rates for individual and group pitching and hitting lessons.  For information, ask for Academy Manager and Cruisers Bench Coach Matt Dillard at 248-681-0700 or e-mail Matt at MDillard@cruisersbaseball.com.
